Ali Mazarei
His professional experience has been mainly in art gallery management, photography, and teaching. His background also includes studies and projects in Vastu architecture, interior and industrial design, and he continues to pursue research in design-related topics.
Background
His background in art and design began at the Radio and Television Arts Conservatory, where he was part of its second graduating class. During his final year there and the early years of his university studies in Photography, he pursued painting under the guidance of Gholamhossein Nami. At university, he studied photography with several distinguished figures, including Mahmoud Morovati, Kaveh Golestan, Mehran Mohajer, Mehrdad Najmabadi, and Seifollah Samadian, whose teaching played an important role in the development of his photographic practice.
Alongside his work in photography, Shalman Art Gallery management, and visual arts education, he gradually expanded his academic interests. In 2010, he continued his studies in Industrial Design at the University of Tehran, and in 2015, he pursued Interior Architecture, further developing his interest in the relationships between design, culture, and art.
During his studies in these two fields, the support and guidance of Prof. Alireza Ajdari played an important role in shaping his interest in design research, writing and compilation, and education. These areas have since become an ongoing part of his academic and professional work.
Ali Mazarei works across teaching, industrial design, interior architecture, photography, and graphic design, connecting rigorous research with sustainable, humanitarian, and culturally responsive approaches.
